What we pour
Driveways. That is the whole list.
One crew that pours driveways all week, not a general concreter fitting yours in. Every job runs to the published build standard.
New concrete driveways
A new driveway from bare ground or building handover, excavated, based, poured and finished by one crew, with the panel layout drawn before the pour.
$100 to $150 per m2 02Driveway replacement and removal
The old slab broken out and carted off, the base rebuilt, and a new driveway poured in its place, one crew and one written price for the whole swap.
$135 to $195 per m2 03Plain and coloured driveways
Broom finished grey at the working end of the price list, and full depth oxide colour where the driveway should match the house, both poured to the same standard underneath.
$100 to $130 per m2 04Driveway extensions and crossovers
Extra width for the second car, a parking bay for the boat or the van, and the council crossover to reach it, matched to what is already there.
$110 to $160 per m2Supplied and laid. Rates move with site conditions and variations; the number that holds is the written quote after a site measure. The pricing page covers what moves them.
Why joints matter
Concrete cracks. The job is deciding where.
A slab wants to crack as it cures and moves. Control joints are cut on planned lines within a day of the pour so any movement happens inside a straight cut instead of across your driveway. Panel layout is drawn before the pour and cut on time, every job.
How a job runs
Six steps between enquiry and parking on it
- 01
Site measure
Levels, falls, access and the ground itself, measured at your place. If the block slopes to the garage, drainage is planned now, not discovered at the pour.
- 02
Fixed written quote
One price for the scope measured, with the base, steel and thickness stated in writing. Any crossover approval or estate covenant your job needs is identified here.
- 03
Out with the old
On replacements, the existing driveway is broken out and carted off, and the base is recompacted. New pours start with the ground, not on top of what failed.
- 04
Base, forms and steel
Compacted base to suit sand or clay, forms to the setout, mesh on chairs so it works inside the slab. This day decides how long the driveway lasts.
- 05
Pour and finish
Poured at 25 MPa and finished in one continuous run, timed for the weather. Broom, colour or the finish your covenant requires.
- 06
Cut and cure
Control joints cut on planned lines within a day, then the slab is kept curing. Cars stay off for seven days; the concrete keeps hardening for a month.

The work, mid job
Not styled shots: pours as the crew left them that day, forms on, steel down, screed lines still wet. This is what the build standard looks like on the ground.
Crossovers and covenants
Three councils and two estates write the rules here
The strip between your boundary and the road belongs to the council. Sunshine Coast Council and Noosa Shire both run a two tier system: a crossover that ticks the council's checklist is self assessed with no permit, while anything outside the checklist needs the council's written sign off before work begins, with a fee the council sets each financial year.
South of the coast in Caboolture and Morayfield, the City of Moreton Bay writes its own version: crossovers are self assessed against zone based requirements, and anything outside them is referred to the council for written approval first. In Aura and Harmony the developer covenants go further again and generally rule plain grey finishes out altogether. None of it should be your problem: what your job needs is identified at the site measure and stated in writing on your quote. The crossovers page has the detail for both councils.

Questions
Sunshine Coast driveways, answered
What does a concrete driveway cost on the Sunshine Coast?
Plain grey broom finish starts at $100 per m2 supplied and installed, coloured concrete runs $110 to $130, and an exposed aggregate finish $135 to $150. A single driveway of about 45 m2 lands between $4,500 and $6,750 depending on finish. Rates move with site conditions and variations; the number that holds is the written quote after a site measure.
Do I need a council permit for a new driveway?
The driveway inside your boundary usually needs no permit. The crossover, between your boundary and the road, follows council rules: on the Sunshine Coast and in Noosa Shire a crossover that ticks every box on the council checklist is self assessed with no permit, while one that misses a box needs written council sign off before any work begins. Your quote states in writing which side yours falls on.
Can I pour plain grey in Aura or Harmony?
Generally not. Both estates carry developer design covenants, and undecorated plain grey driveway finishes are generally not permitted. Coloured and exposed aggregate finishes are the usual approved choices. Check the design guidelines for your release; what applies to your block is confirmed before anything is booked.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Concreting work valued over $3,300 requires a QBCC licence in Queensland, and the contractor holds one and is insured.
How long does a new driveway take?
Most single driveways are one to two days on site: day one for removal or excavation, base and steel, day two for the pour and finish. Control joints are cut within a day of the pour, cars stay off for seven days, and the concrete keeps gaining strength for about a month.
